Fatma graduated from Kent State University in August 2020 with a PhD in the Curriculum and Instruction program, with a concentration in Science Education. She has 13 years of teaching experience as a science teacher at the middle school level and two years at the college level. Her goal as a science teacher educator and researcher is to generate knowledge that will contribute to preparing and supporting science teachers in their initial preparation and professional development. Dr. Kaya is currently a postdoctoral research fellow at the Tennessee STEM Education Center.
