Andrea is a first year PhD student in Math and Science Education with a concentration in interdisciplinary science at Middle Tennessee State University. She is a graduate of Furman University with a BS in Biology and a MA in education. For fifteen years, she taught high school science (biology, chemistry, and physical science); and spent four years as an instructor in science education at the University of Memphis. In addition to being a student at MTSU, she also serves as a master teacher in MTeach, a UTEACH replicate that develops math and science teachers. She currently holds a national board certification in science and serves as an AP Biology reader.
